This past week, a great deal of my thoughts have been with the de Graaf family. I have thought about Gerrit and the impression he has made on so many. It didn't matter what kind of day you were having, it was always brighter when Gerrit was around. It is clear that he is one of God's chosen ones.
I was also thinking about the very difficult times the family will have in saying good bye. My heart was feeling very heavy so I knew I needed to get into "The Book". I was reading in Isaiah 41 and of course there was a message loud and clear. "I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.' ". In this difficult time, I know that the de Graaf family is holding on tightly to our Lord's strong hand knowing that they are not ever alone.
Gerrit and Anna Mae have left the teachings of the Lord with their children to pass on so that they will know the glory in Jesus Christ which will forever be in generations to come.
May God be especially close to you all right now. Amen
God puts us on this earth for such a short period of time then takes us back home again. I just am so incredibly greatful to have been on this earth at the same time as Uncle Gerrit. My life has definately been funnier!
Thank you Uncle Gerrit! I love you!
Julie
